“Regarding sanctions against Russia, I hope that in the coming days my budget bill will be adopted. For the first time in Canadian history, it contains rules that will allow us to confiscate and freeze as well. the asset sanctions, ”Freeland said.
He added that he discussed the idea with the US and other international partners.
“We believe that it is really important to expand our legal powers, because it will be very important to find the money for the restoration of Ukraine. And I can not name a more appropriate source of such funding than the confiscated Russian assets, ”the minister stressed.
