UOC-MP representatives have long praised Russia’s aggression and incited inter-religious conflict in Ukraine.

For the first time, the Supreme Court adopted a decision recognizing the legality of the transfer of a religious community from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This was announced on Thursday, April 4, on the Facebook page of the Supreme Court.

The court was told that some residents of the village of Kalinovka, Zhytomyr region, decided to voluntarily change their canonical affiliation by joining the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. However, this move was challenged in court.

The Judicial Chamber for consideration of cases on corporate disputes, corporate rights and securities of the Economic Court of Cassation referred the case to the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court for consideration.

“When deciding on the limits of state intervention in the right to religious freedom, the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court was guided as a fundamental position by the fact that the task of the court is to determine whether the measures taken at the national level is reasonable. and proportional, as well as how justified is the intervention of the court in the internal affairs of a religious society,” said representatives of the Supreme Court.

There are no more churches of the Moscow Patriarchate left in the Buchany community of the Kiev region: on Saturday, February 10, the last Orthodox community of the UOC MP was transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

It was previously known that more than 60 UOC clerics were exposed for their collaboration with Russia.
