The ship, which was carrying sanctioned goods worth 40 million euros from Russia to the United States, was prohibited from leaving the port.
Germany detained a ship from Russia in the port of Rostock, which was carrying sanctioned goods to the United States. The Süddeutsche Zeitung reported this on Tuesday, April 2.
The Rostock Port Authority said that due to having goods on board subject to EU sanctions, the ship received a detention order from customs. Therefore, leaving the port is prohibited.
It is understood that the cargo ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands called at the port of Rostock for repairs on March 4 due to technical problems with the propeller. The injury was likely caused by driving on ice. The publication noted that the ship arrived from Russia.
Journalists also established that the ship was bound for the United States and loaded, among other things, with birch wood and enriched uranium for American nuclear power plants. The total value of the shipment is approximately 40 million euros.
We remind you that at the end of March, Swiss banks began to close the accounts of Russians.
