Arms companies believe that interest in their products will continue after the war in Ukraine.
The Czech arms industry has received a new stage of development. Czech arms makers reported record sales as the war in Ukraine and heightened global tensions hit. This was reported by Euractiv.
It was mentioned that the Colt CZ earned almost 600 million euros. Omnipol and Czechoslovak Group (CSG) also showed very good results in 2023, mainly due to the production of large-caliber ammunition and military ground vehicles. Most of the products are supplied to NATO countries and Ukraine.
STV Arms Group continues to increase production of ammunition, especially large caliber ammunition. Over the past two years, total production at some of the company’s production facilities has increased approximately tenfold. Most of the supplies are carried out to Ukraine, both directly and through government programs in Europe and the United States, as well as to the Czech army and other NATO countries.
As the publication writes, the development of the Czech arms industry should also be facilitated by the requirement adopted last year that the Czech state annually spend at least 2% of GDP on defense.
Arms companies believe that interest in their products will continue after the war in Ukraine, when the armies of NATO countries empty their warehouses and begin to replenish stocks.
As reported, within the framework of the Czech initiative, Ukraine will not receive 800 thousand bullets, as previously planned, but one million.
We remind you that 20 countries have pledged to allocate funds for the purchase of shells. This includes Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany, France and Norway, as well as non-European allies such as Canada.
