The enemy has moved its most valuable ships and submarines to this seaport to protect them from naval drones. It turned out that the Russians had placed four barges at the entrance to the Novorossiysk port. This was announced by the UK Ministry of Defense on March 31, citing intelligence data.
This is an attempt to strengthen the port’s defense against attacks by Ukrainian surface unmanned drones, the construction notes.
British intelligence notes that it is the Novorossiysk port that now plays a decisive role in protecting the most valuable assets of the Black Sea Fleet.
The defense department also added that Moscow fired the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Viktor Sokolov, after Ukraine achieved success in using surface drones against Russian targets both at sea and in port.
And new commander Sergei Pinchuk now wants to save the remnants of the Black Sea Fleet by taking further preventive and defensive measures, including reducing access to port facilities.
Let us recall that British intelligence recently predicted a disappointing fate for the so-called “Dnieper flotilla,” which the Russian occupiers decided to create for maneuvers along the Dnieper. The allies believe that these boats will become targets for Ukrainian surface drones.
