France and Canada remain active allies of Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian aggressors.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron. Among the main topics of politicians is the aid to Ukraine from Ottawa and Paris. This was announced on the official website of the Prime Minister of Canada on Saturday, March 30.
During the leaders’ talks, they discussed the long-term commitments of Canada and France to support Ukraine, which is “defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity from Russian aggression.”
“The French and Canadian leaders agreed that it is necessary to continue to strengthen support for Ukraine,” the statement said.
Trudeau and Macron also discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip. They agreed that an immediate humanitarian ceasefire was urgently needed there and that the hostages should be released.
“Politicians have also expressed concern about the alarming increase in attacks against Jewish, Muslim and Arab communities in Canada, France and around the world,” the report said.
Let’s recall that the previous Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the transfer of 11,000 assault rifles and more than 9 million rounds of ammunition to the Ukrainian military.
We would like to remind you that Macron has previously said that he intends to come to Ukraine with specific proposals and solutions. As you know, the French President has postponed his visit to Ukraine three times.
