In recent days, President Joe Biden’s administration has secretly authorized billions of dollars in bombs and fighter jets to be transferred to Israel. This was done despite Washington’s concerns about an expected military offensive on the southern Gaza city of Rafah. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing anonymous interlocutors.
It is noted that more than 1 thousand 800 MK84 bombs and 500 MK82 bombs will be transferred to the Israeli army. The Israel Defense Forces will also receive 25 F-35A fighters and engines worth about $2.5 billion.
WP writes that the American army practically no longer uses air bombs, which are planned to be transferred to Israel due to the risk of hitting a large number of civilians.
However, as the article states, some representatives of the US Democratic Party believe that Washington should refrain from supplying weapons to Israel because it has not made promises to reduce the number of civilian casualties in the event of an offensive on Rafah and to ease restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Let us remind you that American media reported that Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson will put the issue of aid to Ukraine to a vote after Easter, which Catholics celebrate on March 31.
