US National Security Council spokesman Adrien Watson called on the House of Representatives to pass a bill to help Kyiv.
The White House has commented on Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine’s energy system. In particular, they believe that the Kremlin wants to crush the Ukrainians and plunge the whole country into darkness. This was stated in a statement by the Speaker of the US National Security Council, Adrienne Watson.
“Overnight (on the night of March 29, – ) Russia carried out one of the largest air attacks on Ukraine’s power grid since the start of the war, depriving many people across the country of heat, water and electricity in the cold early days. The bombing was part of a series of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure – a terrible reminder of Vladimir Putin’s attempts to demoralize the Ukrainian people and plunge them into darkness,” the US official said.
He noted that Ukraine needs to protect itself from these ongoing attacks, which is why it is necessary for the House of Representatives to pass a bipartisan bill on additional national security measures.
He added that this way the United States will be able to send more air defense equipment to Ukraine.
“Ukraine needs immediate help and we cannot afford further delay,” Watson concluded.
We remind you that the Russian military used 99 air attack weapons to strike Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 84 enemy air targets.
