In the past 24 hours, Italian Eurofighters, stationed at the Polish base of Malbork as part of a NATO mission, have flown twice. They recorded the presence of Russian aircraft over the international waters of the Baltic Sea, ANSA reports.
The signal about the detection of an unidentified aircraft on March 28 and 29 came from the NATO command center in Udem, Germany. At this signal, the Italian planes from the 4th operational group took off.
After identifying the aircraft, the fighters returned to the base. No incidents were reported.
Two sources said the Russian planes were spotted on radar but did not respond to radio signals or communications requests.
We remind you that on the night of March 29, Russian troops attacked energy facilities during a large-scale coordinated attack. As a result of the shelling, thermal and hydroelectric power plants were damaged in the central and western regions. Before this, it was reported that the Russian Federation had launched strategic bombers into the sky.
