Russia and North Korea are ready to resume flights. Tourist flows will develop and charter flights will be opened for them.
Russia and North Korea have agreed to resume flights to send Russian tourists to the DPRK. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Nature of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kozlov, reports The Moscow Times.
“The topic was discussed. Russia and the DPRK are ready to resume air travel. Tourist flows will be developed and charter flights will be opened for them,” he said.
According to the Russian minister, there is no talk yet about resuming regular flights, and the three charter flights that brought tourists in February and March were of a test nature.
The first group of tourists from Russia went to North Korea in early February after a four-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Russians visited Pyongyang and the North Korean ski resort Masikren.
To visit the DPRK, Russians must obtain special permits. At the same time, the only places open to tourists, except for some areas of Pyongyang, are the beach at the Mazon resort and the Masikren ski resort. Currently, Air Koryo operates flights from Vladivostok to Pyongyang twice a week.
We remind you that the Security Service documented the use of missiles from North Korea by the Russians during the air attack on Ukraine.
The media previously wrote that ships carrying missiles from North Korea to Russia have been docked for several weeks.
