The command of the Polish Armed Forces warned of increased noise levels, especially in the southeastern part of the country due to aircraft activity.
The operational command of the Polish Armed Forces issued the following message to its citizens at five in the morning:
Please note that Polish and allied aircraft fly in Polish airspace, which may result in increased noise, especially in the south-eastern part of the country. Tonight there is intense activity by long-range aviation of the Russian Federation associated with striking targets located on the territory of Ukraine. All necessary procedures have been initiated to ensure the safety of Polish airspace, and DO RSZ is constantly monitoring the situation.
This is not the first time the Poles have scrambled their fighter jets during attacks on Ukraine, but they have been hesitant to shoot down missiles that enter Polish airspace.
During the Russian attack on Ukraine on March 24, one of the missiles flew into Polish territory for 39 seconds. After this incident, the Polish Foreign Ministry called the Russian Ambassador for an explanation, but he ignored the meeting.
