Bridge collapse in USA: emergency declared in Maryland

In the morning, special services pulled two people from the water, one of whom was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Governor of the US state of Maryland, Wes Moore reported declaring an emergency due to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore.

He added that his office is contacting the US Secretary of Transportation, the mayor of Baltimore and local emergency responders.

According to CNN, special services pulled two people from the water in the morning, one of them was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Rescuers are currently searching for at least seven more people who fell into the water after the bridge collapsed.

It will be remembered that on the night of March 26, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the city of Baltimore (Maryland) in America collapsed after a cargo container ship crashed into it.

It was previously reported that in Baltimore, rescuers were searching for two dozen people who may have fallen into the Patapsco River with their vehicles in the bridge collapse.
