The North Atlantic Alliance is analyzing different concepts. In particular, the option of destroying missiles when they are “very close” to the NATO border. However, it is necessary to shoot down Russian air targets from Ukraine and taking into account the international consequences. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Andrzej Schein stated this in an interview with RMF24.
According to him, the incident with the Russian missile in Poland is “rather a deliberate act.” Sheina emphasized that the Russians knew that if the missile went further into Poland, it would be destroyed. The Polish Foreign Ministry believes that in this way Moscow wanted to test the strength of the defense and vigilance of the Polish Armed Forces.
Let us remind you that on the night of March 24, the Russian Federation launched a massive missile strike on Ukraine. One of the missiles violated Polish airspace – it flew into the area of the village of Osierdów in the Lublin Voivodeship and stayed there for 39 seconds. Poland took fighter jets into the sky.
This is the third time a Russian missile has violated Polish airspace, but not once has the Polish army dared to shoot down an air target.
