Donald Trump won his appeal – a New York court reduced his bail in a civil fraud case from $464 million to $175 million, and also gave him a ten-day extension to post it.

The BBC reported this on March 25.
The US ex-president, who has the image of a successful billionaire real estate tycoon, was facing a Monday deadline to post bail in a civil fraud case.
The day could show that Trump doesn’t have as much cash as Americans believe.
Trump, the likely Republican presidential nominee in November, must provide $454 million in cash or bonds to secure the claim.
He is accused of inflating his wealth to deceive creditors.
Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen previously said in an interview with MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House” that Trump’s legal problems could pose a threat to national security. He warned that the ex-president could try to get money to pay his growing bills from foreign countries.
This puts our national security at risk and continues to make Donald Trump the most dangerous person in America to our national security and democracy. Trump doesn’t care where the money comes from as long as he gets it, Cohen said.
Democratic Representative Sean Casten expressed a similar sentiment, writing on X (formerly Twitter):
The potential GOP presidential candidate is desperate for $464 million (and counting) that he can’t personally access. This fact alone makes it a huge national security risk; any foreign adversary seeking to buy the president knows the price.
His former national security adviser, John Bolton, also warned that foreign states could use Trump’s financial position as leverage to achieve foreign policy goals.
Trump is facing enormous legal costs in the cases brought against him. Federal election documents released earlier this year show his fundraising committees spent nearly $30 million on legal fees during the second half of 2023.
