In Azerbaijan, the State Security Service detained an Azerbaijani citizen, a native of the city of Murmansk, Bahruz Asgarov, on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts in the country. This was reported by RosSMI.
It was noted that the defendant involved people living in different regions of the republic in the case and gave them instructions to organize an assassination attempt on the head of the executive branch of Lankaran (in the south of Azerbaijan – ed).
It was also established that Askerov ordered his accomplices to kill a foreign citizen who was working privately as an English teacher in Azerbaijan. The defendant planned to organize military training on the territory of a foreign state for the people he contacted, but as a result of the measures taken by the State Security Service, he was unable to carry out his plan.
Askerov was detained and arrested. Efforts are ongoing to clarify all the details of the criminal case.
Let’s recall that on March 24, the Moscow Basmanny Court arrested all four suspects in the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall.
As reported, a court in the Russian Federation convicted a Ukrainian soldier “for terrorism.”
