The command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine responded to the citizen’s representative’s information about leadership abuse, bullying and physical violence against cadets.
An inspection of the state of affairs will take place at the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sagaidachny. The corresponding decision was made by the Command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the press service of the command reported on Friday, March 22.
“The cases published by the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada will be checked for compliance with the real state of affairs. If these cases are confirmed, all necessary measures will be taken, and sanctions will be applied to responsible officials in accordance with the current law of Ukraine,” the message said.
It was noted that the command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is interested in a comprehensive inspection of a higher military educational institution to provide an objective assessment of all the cases cited. Inspection results will be made publicly available.
“At the same time, we emphasize that the war is ongoing and destroying military personnel only plays into the hands of the enemy. Now any issues related to the military are sensitive. We recommend that officials, regardless of status, responsibly approach the communication of issues related to the performance of official duties. Especially – in the cases of certain officials and groups,” the order emphasizes.
They also mentioned that it is necessary to carefully evaluate the information and make any statements only after confirming the real cases.
Earlier, a member of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada, Yulia Yatsik, reported that the facts of management abuse, bullying and physical violence against cadets, insufficient provision of medicines and poor quality food in the canteen was revealed to the Academy.
