Another oil refinery is burning in the Russian Federation – social networks

Local residents say that first the sound of an engine was heard, then a loud explosion, then the fire started.

A fire broke out at an oil refinery near the city of Novokuybyshevsk, Samara region of the Russian Federation, on the evening of Saturday, March 23, Russian Telegram channels report.

According to preliminary data, the plant was attacked by a drone.

“Eyewitnesses reported a fire at a refinery near the city. Before this, the sound of an engine was heard,” the report said.

According to local residents, a loud explosion was first heard, and then flames were seen from the fire.

No official information yet.

We remind you that since the beginning of the year, 13 Russian refineries have been attacked. The drone attack led to the year’s biggest weekly increase in global oil prices.

According to the Financial Times, the United States called on Ukraine to stop attacking Russian energy infrastructure, as drone attacks on refineries could lead to an increase in world oil prices.

As stated in the Office of the President, Ukraine has not received any request from the United States to stop attacks on Russian oil refineries.
