This innovation is provided for by bill No. 10313, which was supported by deputies in the second reading on March 21.
Now men who, according to the findings of the VLK, were previously found to be of limited fitness, must undergo a second medical examination within nine months after the law comes into force.
Deputy Minister of Defense Natalya Kalmykova explained on the air of the United News telethon that there will no longer be any persons of limited fitness after passing the military medical commission.
Those people who received a VLK conclusion as “limitedly fit” will undergo a review and their suitability for service will be determined. And in the future, the military medical commission will not issue such a conclusion,” she said.
According to Kalmykova, such changes will make life easier for tens of thousands of people.
She noted that relatives of military personnel and the military personnel themselves have repeatedly addressed both the Ministry of Defense and other authorities with a request to resolve this issue.
In December, a new bill was introduced to the Verkhovna Rada on a new procedure for mobilization, as well as improving the system of military registration and service.
