Russia continues to use the railway as the main element of supply logistics for the occupation corps, Andrei Yusov said.
The Russian aggressors are actually building a railway to the temporarily occupied Crimea and this is a “significant target” for the Ukrainian military. The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, said this at a telethon on Thursday, March 21.
“This is a serious challenge. A serious threat. Accordingly, this is a significant goal for the Ukrainian defense forces. There are plans, but they do not always correspond to reality. The same is true in the case of Russia,” said he.
Yusov recalled that Russia continued to use the railway as the main element of supply logistics for the occupation corps. The enemy is not satisfied with the situation on the Crimean Bridge and its capacity, so they are trying to strengthen the railway connection.
The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate assured that “there is opposition to these plans.” And in response to the question of whether the enemy will be able to build a railway in Crimea in the occupied south of Ukraine, he said that “it is a task.”
“The question is, what if it fails or doesn’t meet the deadlines? If it succeeds, then how long and how effectively can it be done,” Yusov added.
Let’s recall that the other day the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, said that the Russian Federation had allegedly restored the railway line from the Russian city of Rostov to the temporarily occupied Berdyansk. In the future, this railway will be an “alternative” to the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait.
And the other day, a video appeared of the construction of a railway from Russia to Crimea from the occupied areas of Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
