On March 21, the Verkhovna Rada voted in the second reading for the law on expanding benefits for the military and police. The wounded will be able to receive treatment abroad for up to a year without undergoing VLC every four months.

Payments to the relatives of those killed in the war will amount to UAH 15 million. Military personnel will have the right to leave upon the birth of a child. Civilians will be able to be hired as military chaplains, People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on his social networks.
According to People’s Deputy Irina Gerashchenko, among other things, Law No. 10313 provides for:
- military personnel will have the same rights to freedom of speech on social networks as other Ukrainians;
- military personnel will be able to undergo treatment for 12 months, including abroad, without the need to undergo VLC every four months;
- the law establishes a monetary payment for the death of a serviceman at UAH 15 million;
- military chaplains cannot be persons belonging to the Russian Orthodox Church;
- It is possible to dismiss military personnel to care for a sick child under 14 years of age.
- changes are being made to disciplinary regulations to prevent military personnel from committing violations related to gender discrimination or sexual harassment;
- provision is made for the possibility of replacing military chaplains of Defense Force units with civilian positions;
- leaves are provided for military personnel upon the birth of a child.
- Leave is provided after injury and treatment, which can last up to 12 months.
- one month in a combat zone is equivalent to four months of service.
The law was supported by 296 deputies.
