Natalya Gumenyuk said that on the eve of the attack there was increased activity of the enemy’s unmanned reconnaissance.
During the missile attack on March 21, the Russian invaders focused on attacking the north and center of Ukraine. At that moment, the activity of Russian reconnaissance drones was also observed. This was stated by the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine Natalya Gumenyuk during the telethon Unifying news.
“And this, in principle, is predictable, obvious and foreseeable. We said that after the “elections” held by the enemy on its territory and temporarily occupying the territories (of Ukraine – ed.), they can increase the pressure on the front -line. territories and in more regions of Ukraine, deeper, including the capital, “he said.
The South is in combat work, but mainly in the matter of tracking the direction of missiles.
“You probably saw that the trajectory of the missiles was complex, they performed maneuvers, tried to bypass the air defense systems. Therefore, they worked all over the country,” said the spokesperson.
Gumenyuk noted that Russian ships were not involved in this attack.
“They’re at their bases. And they haven’t been out on patrol for two weeks. And the launch vehicles have been at the base for over a month,” he said.
According to him, there has been an increase in unmanned enemy reconnaissance activity, including on March 20.
“Yesterday, at the end of the world day, in the Black Sea, the air defense forces destroyed two enemy SuperCams, which came from the water area, closer to the coast, trying to collect maximum information. In general, the activity of unmanned reconnaissance , included in our area of responsibility, reached 147 units per day. This is a very high number. This is how they are trying to compensate for the absence of the A-50 in the air,” concluded Gumenyuk .
We remind you that Kyiv city authorities reported that three dozen missiles were fired at the capital and its suburbs.
