In the Rivne region, 111 cases of whooping cough were recorded in the past two months, which is 37 times higher than in the same period last year. This was reported by the Rivne Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
It was known that 108 children and three adults fell ill. In 24% of patients, whooping cough occurs in a mild form, in 72% in a moderate form, and in another 4% in a severe form.

Vaccination provides protection against whooping cough. According to the National Vaccination Schedule, children should be vaccinated to prevent whooping cough at the ages of 2, 4, 6 and 18 months. Immunizations are done with the DPT vaccine, which immediately protects against whooping cough, diphtheria and tetanus.
