Since the beginning of March alone, Russian aircraft have dropped about 200 guided bombs on the territory of the Sumy region.
The Russian invaders, with the help of constant shelling, tried to burn the villages of the Sumy region, located near the border, to ruins. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on Tuesday, March 19.
“The Russian army is only trying to burn our border villages to ruins. Just from the beginning of March until now, the Russian aviation has dropped almost 200 guided bombs on the communities of the Sumy region alone. Only in those villages, cities, civilian infrastructure,” he noted.
The Ukrainian leader stressed that there is now a clear need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense to make such a threat impossible. Zelensky added that the regions of Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkov, Donetsk, Lugansk and southern regions need additional protection.
“It is important that the big countries that have the necessary weapons do not keep them somewhere there, in warehouses or storage, but the Patriot and all the others really work to save people’s lives,” stressed by Zelensky.
We remind you that on March 18, the Russian military attacked the city of Konotop, Sumy region. Civilian infrastructure was destroyed.
In two days it was as if in six months: the number of explosions increased dramatically in the Sumy region
