President of the European Council calls on the EU to continue a “war”

The European Union must put the bloc’s economy on a “war footing.” This was announced on Tuesday, March 19, by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who addressed the leaders of the EU countries.

According to Michel, the priorities for the European Union are the rapid provision of military aid to Ukraine and the accelerated purchase and delivery of ammunition.

In addition, according to the head of the European Council, the Europeans should focus on the effective implementation and enforcement of sanctions against Russia, as well as promoting efforts to use the proceeds from the fixed assets of the Russian Federation.

“For decades, Europe has not invested enough in its security and defense. It is time to take radical and concrete measures to be ready in defense and put the bloc’s economy in a war. said the President of the European Council.

The official added the requirement to help the EU defense industry access private and public funding and reduce regulatory burdens and barriers to industry.

“Shaping this strategic thinking on security requires strong leadership and a clear understanding of the urgency of dealing with the threats we face. I hope our European Council will deliver on this,” he added. said Michel.
