These efforts, combined with international F-16 coalition partners, result in a unified and successful approach to building a modern Ukrainian Air Force.
Belgium is sending 50 of its soldiers and two aircraft to Denmark for eight weeks to train the Ukrainian military on F-16s. It was reported by Beldefnews.
Belgian Minister of Defense Ludin Dedonder and Chief of Defense of the Belgian Armed Forces Admiral Michel Hofmann visited the training area in Denmark on March 18.
“As minister, I am proud that our aviation sector can participate in this important program to train Ukrainian pilots, support and technical personnel,” said Dedonder.
It was noted that for the operation of the F-16 fleet, the technical part is as important as the flying part, therefore the Ministry of Defense is working with partners in the Belgian defense industry not only to train technical specialists in Ukraine, but also to provide the necessary technical means in support of the air fleet.
Dedonder clarified that these efforts, combined with international partners in the F-16 coalition, result in a unified and successful approach to the creation of a modern Ukrainian Air Force capable of protecting the population and its territory in the medium to long term.
According to the publication, in the second half of 2024, 50 soldiers and two F-16s will be redeployed to Denmark.
Earlier, the media wrote that Belgium is preparing a military aid package for Ukraine worth 412 million euros, which includes 300 LMV armored cars.
It was also reported that Belgium will transfer F-16s to Ukraine in 2025. This is what Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Cros said.
