An American MQ-9 Reaper drone made an emergency landing in Poland, losing contact with the base during a scheduled exercise near the city of Miroslawiec. The press service of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces reported this on the social network on the evening of Tuesday, March 19 X.
“On March 18, after 23:00, an unmanned aircraft of the US Armed Forces, flying in Polish airspace, made an emergency landing near Mirosławiec. The landing took place in accordance with procedures in a safe non-residential area. The scene of the incident is guarded by special services, and investigative actions are carried out by the military police,” it said in a message from the General Staff.
On Monday, the Polish General Staff reported that the US Air Force MQ-9 Reaper drone lost contact with the base during scheduled training at the airfield near Mirosławiec.
Let’s recall that on March 14 last year, a Russian Su-27 aircraft shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone, which was conducting reconnaissance in the international airspace over the Black Sea. Subsequently, the media reported that the Russian Federation had found the drone and was trying to research its technology.
