The total installed capacity of the attacked plants is 178 million tons per year, but only eight refineries with a total installed capacity of 83 million tons per year received significant damage, The Insider wrote.
Since the beginning of 2024, there have been 15 drone attacks on 13 oil refineries in nine regions of Russia. Eight facilities were severely damaged, The Insider reports.
“The total installed capacity of the attacked plants is 178 million tons per year, but only eight refineries with a total installed capacity of 83 million tons per year have received significant damage. So far, the campaign of strike affected only 46 million tons per year of refining capacity, which is equivalent to 14% of total refinery capacity and 17% of oil processed in 2023,” the statement said.
We remind you that recently UAVs regularly enter Russian refineries and oil depots. On the night of March 17, a fire broke out after a drone strike in the city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in the Krasnodar Territory. A day earlier, on March 16, in the Samara region of the Russian Federation, drones attacked two oil refineries; on March 15, three UAVs attacked an oil refinery in the Kaluga region of the Russian Federation: the equipment was damaged.
