The judge ruled that the case of illegal possession of classified documents “deserves serious consideration.”

A US federal judge on Thursday, March 14, rejected former President Donald Trump’s request to dismiss a criminal case on charges of illegal possession of classified documents, Reuters reports.

It was noted that Florida State District Judge Eileen Cannon’s decision came hours after a hearing in which his lawyers argued that the main charge in the case was too vague.

Judge Cannon, who, by the way, was appointed to the position by Trump, ruled that the issue “deserves serious consideration” but should not be decided at this time.

Let’s remember that last year Trump was indicted on seven counts under the Espionage Act. It stems from the improper storage of classified documents at his Florida residence after he left the presidency in 2021.

Before this, 11 sets of secret documents were confiscated from Trump during the search.
