European sanctions apply to more than 2,100 individuals and entities involved in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The European Union has extended personal sanctions against those responsible for destroying territorial integrity for six months, until September 15, 2024. This was reported on the EU Council website on Tuesday, March 12.
Sanctions include travel restrictions for individuals, asset freezes and bans on providing funds to individuals and legal entities. They concern more than 2,100 individuals and legal entities.
“In the context of the sanctions review, the Council also decided not to renew the sanctions against three individuals and to remove the nine deceased individuals from the list,” the statement said.
It does not specify which individuals we are talking about.
Let’s remember that the number of authorized persons and companies in the Russian Federation exceeds 6,000. At the same time, Western countries have also increasingly begun to introduce sanctions against companies from third countries that are suspected of violating strict measures against the Russian Federation.
