The Kremlin made this decision due to “active lobbying by Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia for proposed sanctions against the Russian Federation.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry banned 347 citizens of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from entering its territory due to the “hostile policy” of these states towards Russia. This was reported by the Russian publication Topical positioning oneself as independent.

Among those included in the list of persons non grata are ministers, deputies, public figures, and journalists.

Moscow, in particular, banned the entry of the Prime Ministers of Estonia and Latvia, Kai Kallas and Evika Silini, and the Foreign Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The ban was also introduced for the heads of the Ministry of Defense, Justice and Internal Affairs of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, speakers and representatives of the parliaments of these states.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the reason for this step is “active lobbying by Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia for sanctions against the Russian Federation, interference in Russia’s internal affairs, persecution of the population that speaks Russian, and a barbaric campaign. for the mass demolition of monuments to Soviet liberating soldiers.”

As already written, the Latvian Seimas adopted amendments to the Law on Road Traffic, which prohibits the entry into Latvia of vehicles registered in Belarus.
