The actor said that if Trump returns to the White House, “things will happen that none of us can imagine.”
Actor Robert De Niro has strongly criticized the likely US presidential candidate Donald Trump. He said this on an HBO talk show, The Hill reported on Saturday, March 9.
“This guy is a real monster… I don’t understand it,” De Niro said, commenting on polls showing the GOP front-runner ahead of President Biden. He also added that Trump is a “mean, nasty, hateful person.”
The actor said he would turn down any role that would require him to play Trump because “he doesn’t see anything good in him.”
“Nothing. Absolutely nothing, nothing can be improved on him,” De Niro said.
He warned that Trump’s second administration would be “dangerous,” referring to the former president’s rhetoric.
“Things will happen that none of us can imagine. Things that happen under the kind of dictatorship he’s talking about. Let’s take him at his word. After all, he’s a sociopath, a psychopath, a malignant narcissist,” he added.
On Saturday, Trump responded in a post on Truth Social, calling the actor’s comments “stupid.”
“Robert De Niro has an incurable case of Trump Syndrome. A dumb person with a low IQ!” he wrote.
De Niro continues to criticize Trump. Last year, he said that democracy cannot survive if the former president is elected. Then he was also called “a man pretending to be a dictator.”
“I’ve studied bad people for a long time. I’ve studied their characteristics, their habits, the absolute prohibition of their cruelty. But there’s something different about Donald Trump. When I look at him, I don’t see anything bad. man. Really. I see evil,” the actor said.
After that statement, Trump told De Niro to “focus on his life, which is a mess, and not on other people’s lives” and called him a “total loser.”
We remind you that in 2022, Robert de Niro was invited to Ukraine to join the OP. To this, the actor replied that he would be happy to visit the country.
