Decree No. 143/2024 “On awarding the National Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko”, dated March 5, was published on the website of the President of Ukraine.

The list of laureates was formed based on the submission of the Committee for the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine.
Thus, the 2024 Prize is awarded to:
- artist Susanna Jamaladinova (Dzhamali) for the album “Qirim”;
- artist Andrey Ermolenko for a series of artistic works “Russian resistance // Ukrainian resistance”;
- poet Dmitry Lazutkin for the book of poems “Bookmark”;
- journalists Evgeniy Maloletka, Mstislav Chernov, Vasilisa Stepanenko for a series of journalistic materials about the siege of Mariupol (reports, photos and video reports, investigation and the film “20 days in Mariupol”);
- composer Carmelli Tsepkolenko for the cantatas “Reading History” based on the poetry of Oksana Zabuzhko, “Where are you from, black roll, the bird will play?” based on the poetry of Sergei Zhadan, Duel-Duet for violin and double bass, Symphony No. 5;
- poetess Yarina Chernoguz for the book of poems “[dasein: оборона присутності]”;
- stage director Ivan Urivsky, production designer Tatyana Ovsiychuk, choir mistress Susanna Karpenko for the play “The Konotop Witch” based on the story by Grigory Kvitka-Osnovyanenko at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater.
In 2024, the size of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine is 429 thousand UAH each.
