President Vladimir Zelensky issued a decree awarding Ukraine’s highest official creative honor – the National Taras Shevchenko Award. The presidential decree was published on the website of the head of state on Saturday, March 9.
Shevchenko Prize laureates 2024:
Literature – Dmitry Lazutkin for the book of poems Bookmark and Yarina Chernoguz for the book of poems [dasein: оборона присутствия].
Journalism, journalism – Evgeny Maloletka, Mstislav Chernov, Vasilisa Stepanenko for press materials about the siege of Mariupol, including the film 20 days in Mariupol.
Art in music – Jamal for the album Qirim and composer Carmella Tsepkolenko.
Theater arts – Ivan Urovsky, Tatyana Ovsiychuk, Susanna Karpenko for the play “The Witch of Konotop”.

The Shevchenko Prize is the highest creative award for a significant contribution to the development of culture and art in Ukraine. The prize has been awarded since 1961 on Taras Shevchenko’s birthday, which is celebrated on March 9.
