British Foreign Secretary David Cameron dismissed concerns that the transfer of cruise missiles could lead to proliferation.
The UK is ready to help Germany supply Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said this in an interview with Süddeutsche Zeitung.
“We are determined to work closely with our German partners on this, as on all other issues, to help Ukraine,” assured the British official.
According to him, a possible exchange of the ring is allowed as one of the possible options: Germany transfers Taurus missiles to Britain, and London provides Ukraine with additional Storm Shadow missiles.
“We are ready to consider all options to achieve the maximum effect for Ukraine… But we will not give any details and will not tell our opponents what we are planning,” the official emphasized.
The British Foreign Secretary dismissed concerns that the transfer of cruise missiles could lead to proliferation.
“It is entirely possible to put restrictions on the use of these weapons to ensure that they do not contribute in any way to proliferation,” he said, adding that Britain trusts Ukraine’s assurances.
We remind you that the Prime Minister of the German state of Bavaria, Markus Soeder, called on the federal government to transfer the Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. He suggested having a second vote on this issue in the Bundestag.
