Ukrainian border guards received information from the Polish side that farmers plan to temporarily unblock the checkpoint until March 13. However, whether the Poles keep their promise is still unclear. The press secretary of the State Tax Service Andrey Demchenko announced this on March 9 during a telethon.
We were informed this could continue until March 13th. But will this be observed, will the direction of the Krakovets checkpoint actually be unblocked by the 13th, we will see,” he noted.
Demchenko noted that as of this morning, there are about 2 thousand 300 trucks in queues in all directions. Farmers from Poland make it difficult or almost impossible for trucks to travel.
The most difficult situation is observed opposite the Yagodin and Shegini checkpoints, where trucks heading towards Poland are not allowed through at all. Yesterday, about 70 trucks entered Ukraine through Yagodin, and only two dozen through Shegini.
At the same time, the Poles are allowing cars and buses through, and humanitarian and other important cargo is arriving at Ukrainian checkpoints.
Let us remind you that Polish farmers blocked six checkpoints on the border with Ukraine and let 12 trucks through every 12 hours. Thousands of cars regularly line up.
