A tourist flies a drone inside the no-fly zone of Leknes airport in central Norway. An air defense radar is located near the airport.
A Chinese citizen has been deported from Norway with a two-year entry ban for flying a drone over a NATO radar station. European Truth reported this, citing Dagblade.
Norwegian law enforcement officials discovered that a Chinese citizen had flown the drone within the no-fly zone of the airport in Leknes in central Norway. It is known that there is an air defense radar of the Norwegian Armed Forces near the airport.
“In this case, he was detained by the police and fined. The drone was confiscated,” said local police spokesman Katil Finstad-Steyra.
Finstad Steira clarified that the Chinese woman was in Norway as part of a tourist group, and it was not known whether she was seeking to photograph a military installation.
“Due to the security situation in Europe, there is now a very strict attitude towards drones. That is why this decision was made. He will be forcibly deported from the Schengen area as soon as it becomes practical,” he added.
