The defendant was found guilty of violating the laws and customs of war, as well as encroaching on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
The former head of the “DPR” with the call sign Bes, who tortured Automaidan activists in Crimea in 2014, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in absentia. The prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol reported this on March 8.
The defendant was found guilty of violating the laws and customs of war, as well as encroaching on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.
We are talking about one of the former leaders of the terrorist organization “DPR”, Igor Bezler. He was an active participant in the events of the occupation of the peninsula, and later became one of the leaders of the illegal armed formation of the Russian Federation operating in the Donetsk region.
In March 2014, in Simferopol, under the leadership of the defendant, his accomplices kidnapped activists – participants in Automaidan and kept them in custody at the military registration and enlistment office. All victims were placed in inappropriate places, blindfolded, without proper nutrition and communication with loved ones. The convict personally used threats, torture, violence and caused bodily harm to some of them.
Let’s recall that in October 2022, the former chairman of the so-called “DPR”, who was also involved in the annexation of Crimea, was told of the suspicion.
It is also reported that Igor Bezler complained to an FSB officer about the ineffectiveness of the Russian army and the incompetence of the state leadership.
