The ballerina condemned the behavior of the Baltic countries and supported the actions of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda stripped Russian ballerina Ilze Liepa and businessman Yuri Kudimov, a former USSR KGB officer, of Lithuanian citizenship. The LRT announced this on Thursday, March 7.
The initiative to revoke the ballerina’s Lithuanian passport appeared after Liepa, who has Lithuanian and Russian citizenship, in an interview with Russian media condemned the behavior of the Baltic countries and expressed support for the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
The Department of State Security found that Kudimov obtained Lithuanian citizenship by hiding information about his biography. He gave false information about his education and place of work, and also did not disclose that he was an intelligence officer of the KGB of the Soviet Union.
We remind you that in one month, Lithuanian citizens collected about 8.3 million euros for the purchase of more than 1,100 safety kits for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Lithuanian government has allocated more than 300 thousand euros in support of Ukrainian refugees.
