All of China’s efforts are aimed at paving the way for ending the “conflict” and starting peace negotiations, Wang Yi assured.
China’s advocates are holding an international peace conference on the “Ukraine crisis,” which both Moscow and Kyiv will recognize in due course. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said this, ECNS reports on Thursday, March 7.
According to him, the conference should ensure the participation of all parties and honest discussion of all peace plans.
“All conflicts must end at the negotiation table. The sooner talks start, the sooner peace will come,” the minister said.
Wang Yi assured that all China’s efforts are aimed at paving the way for ending the conflict and starting peace negotiations.
He emphasized that past experience shows that a conflict, if it is prolonged, tends to get worse and worse, on a scale that the parties concerned cannot imagine.
He said, misconceptions and miscalculations will accumulate and may lead to a bigger crisis if the peace talks do not take place.
“The lessons of this matter should not be forgotten,” summed up the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Let’s recall that a week ago China sent special envoy Li Hui to Ukraine, Russia and EU countries “to prepare for peace negotiations.” This is his second tour. After the first trip, Li Hui announced a consensus on the “crisis” in Ukraine.
Let’s recall that Ukraine invited Chinese leader Xi Jinping to the Peace Summit in Switzerland according to the previously proposed Peace Formula.
However, a Chinese representative was not among the participants in the fourth meeting of national security advisors at the World Formula on January 14 in Davos. The media also reported that Chinese Prime Minister Li Qian decided not to interfere with President Vladimir Zelensky at the forum in Davos.
