On March 5, detachments of the border service department Tyachev of the Mukachevo detachment stopped several attempts to violate the river section of the border with Romania. This is reported by the State Border Service.
It was mentioned that a group of seven men was first discovered near Tisa. Ignoring legal demands by border guards to stop, the violators began to flee. The five of them jumped into the water. Realizing how deep and fast the river was, the three immediately turned back and tried to hide in the bushes. The other two had to be rescued by border guards. Two others were found using drones.
Residents of Ternopil region, Sumy region, Kharkiv region, Rivne region and Kiev region were detained. The men admitted that they used the services of transporters, for which each of them had to pay from 4 to 8.5 thousand dollars.
In addition to this group, border guards near Tisa detained three men residents of Kirovograd region, Kiev region and Kharkiv region. Another border violator, a resident of Kiev, was injured while trying to overcome the barrier fence approaching the river. He was taken to the hospital, where the injured man was diagnosed with a closed fracture of the calcaneus with displacement.
With respect to all detained violators, border guards have developed protocols for attempting to illegally cross the state border. The court will provide a legal assessment of their actions.
We remind you that in Transcarpathia the body of a young Carpathian citizen was recovered from Tisa. The deceased was a resident of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, born in 2002. This is the 21st case of a person dying while trying to swim across the river.
Earlier in Transcarpathia they found a draft dodger who had been wandering the mountains for three days without water or food.
