Two models of these UAVs will be purchased for the Ukrainian army. In total, it is planned to purchase 20 thousand copters for an amount of almost 3 billion UAH without paying VAT. The drones must be delivered by May 31, 2024. The corresponding announcements on March 4 were posted in Prozorro. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
It is noted that it is planned to purchase 15 thousand DJI Mavic 3E for over 2 million UAH. excluding value added tax and 5 thousand DJI Mavic 3 Thermal, the expected cost of which is 989 million 81 thousand 667 UAH. without VAT.
The defense ministry said the expected cost was calculated by deriving an average price based on the commercial proposals received.
These tenders reaffirm our commitment to transparency and efficiency in defense procurement. We are doing everything possible to ensure that we get the best solutions for our country and our military,” said Marina Bezrukova, director of the Defense Procurement Agency.
Let us recall that in February of this year, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the resolution of the Ministry of Economy regarding suppliers of mass-produced drones from foreign manufacturers, such as Mavic, Autel and Matrice. These sellers will have a level playing field to access government contracts, and competition can drive down costs.
