Donald Trump, leaving his rival Nikki Gailey far behind, is becoming an almost unopposed candidate from the Republican Party in the US presidential election.
Former US President Donald Trump won the Republican Party primaries in Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Virginia, Oklahoma and Tennessee on Super Tuesday, Reuters reports.
Incumbent President Joe Biden won the Democratic primaries in both states, as well as in Iowa.
Trump has now won the Republican primary in every state where it was held except one – Washington, DC, where Nikki Haley won. Before Super Tuesday, Trump won eight states. Thus, he became an almost unopposed candidate from the Republican Party.
It will be recalled that Trump gained an advantage in three other Republican primaries on Saturday, defeating Haley in Missouri, Idaho and Michigan.
