Kaja Kallas responded to an article in which an unnamed EU official spoke about his gastronomic preferences, referring to his political position.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas showed a photo of her breakfast, responding to an article in Politico in which an unnamed European official said Kallas “likes to eat Russians for breakfast.”
Callas posted a tweet with the caption “My breakfast, dear readers of Politico Europe” and a photo of his breakfast – muesli with yogurt and blueberries, as well as cups of drinks.
“Unfortunately, Politico could not confirm what was in his cup: hot lemon with honey, green tea or Russian imperialist tears,” the publication responded.
The publication to which the Prime Minister of Estonia responded mentioned, among other things, the non-public discussions that Kaja Kallas could replace Josep Borrell as EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy in the new composition of European Commission.
An EU official, speaking on condition of anonymity, commented: “Are we really going to appoint someone who wants to eat Russians for breakfast in this position?”, a play on a popular English expression meaning “it is easy to defeat or control someone. .”

Earlier, Callas called on Europe to “act immediately” to help Ukraine.
