The White House recalled that the Ukrainian leader never asked Western countries to fight for Ukraine.
President Vladimir Zelensky never asked the troops of Western states to fight for Ukraine, but expressed the need only for weapons. White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said this in a briefing on Tuesday, March 5.
He emphasized that the US Congress must approve additional funding for Ukraine so that the United States “can continue its strong leadership and support of a coalition of more than 50 states.”
At the same time, Kirby noted that US President Joe Biden emphasized from the beginning of the Russian invasion: “American troops will not fight on the territory of Ukraine.”
“And you know, President Zelensky didn’t ask for it, he only asked for equipment and skills. He never asked for foreign troops to fight for his country. He and his troops want to do it themselves, but they need tools,” the official added.
We remind you that the State Department said that Ukraine has some surprises for victory.
