Her resignation is expected in the coming weeks. Nuland spent 35 years in government service under six Presidents and ten Secretaries of State of the United States of America. State Department head Antony Blinken announced this on March 5, according to the department’s website.
The department noted Nuland’s leadership on Ukraine issues and added that her efforts were indispensable in countering a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Nuland was also responsible for forming a global coalition to ensure Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s strategic failure in the war.
It is noted that John Bass will serve as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs and Under Secretary for Management. Blinken and President Joe Biden asked him to do so.
Let us remind you that US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland visited Kiev on January 31, where she met with representatives of the Ukrainian government, civil society and veterans. Nuland then promised Russian dictator Vladimir Putin unpleasant surprises on the battlefield in Ukraine.
