Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov submitted his government’s resignation to parliament on March 5, a day ahead of schedule as part of a previously agreed round. BTA reported it.
According to an agreement reached in early June last year between the two largest groups in the current parliament – The continuation of changes – Democratic Bulgaria (PI-DB) and GERB-SDS, Denkov and Deputy Prime Minister Maria Gabriel shall hold the positions of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in rotation for a nine-month period.
Pursuant to this agreement, both parliamentary groups, as well Movement for rights and freedoms (DPS) voted to appoint Denkov’s cabinet to office on June 6, 2023. The rotation should take place on March 6, 2024.
It was previously reported that the government of Kazakhstan, headed by Alikhan Smailov, resigned.
