The defendant used the Nash TV channel controlled by him to massively disseminate Kremlin propaganda in Ukraine. Based on the SBU materials, the indictment was sent to court.
As the investigation established, Muraev used his media resource to provide distorted information about the internal situation in our state.
Thus, he assisted the aggressor in numerous attempts to destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine on the eve of a full-scale Russian invasion.
In this regard, at the beginning of February 2022, sanctions were introduced against Muraev’s TV channel by the National Security and Defense Council.
The examinations initiated by the Security Service confirmed the facts of the defendant’s anti-Ukrainian activities.
Based on the evidence collected, the former deputy is accused under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 1 Art. 111 (high treason);
- Part 1 Art. 161 (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their race, nationality, regional origin, religious beliefs, disability and other characteristics).
The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Let us recall that in the fall of 2022, SBU officers conducted a series of searches at Muraev’s residences and offices in Kyiv.
During the investigative actions, cash in Russian rubles, weapons, as well as computer equipment and mobile phones were found red-handed at the defendant’s addresses.
