The expected cost of the purchase of drones is calculated by calculating the average price based on the commercial proposals received, assured the Ministry of Defense.
For the first time, the Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense will purchase 20 thousand unmanned aircraft systems (UAV) through the Prozorro system for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press service of the department reported this on Tuesday, March 5.
“The total expected cost is about UAH 3 billion (excluding VAT). Delivery time: until May 31, 2024,” the message said.
It was noted that the acquisition will be carried out through the application of a framework agreement. This will allow you to competitively purchase the required product items without simultaneously disclosing sensitive information to the public.
According to data from the Ministry of Defense, the relevant announcements were published on Prozorro on March 4 for the following procurement items:
-
Type of UAV DJI Mavic 3E – 15,000 units. Estimated cost – 2,000,550,000 UAH (excluding VAT);
-
Type of UAV DJI Mavic 3 Thermal – 5000 units. Estimated cost – 989,081,667 UAH (excluding VAT).
The ministry said the expected acquisition cost was calculated by drawing an average price based on the commercial proposals received.
Earlier on Tuesday it became known that by 2024, Ukraine plans to produce up to 2 million drones of various types. The government considers such numbers highly achievable.
