Poland will receive several thousand Carl-Gustaf M4 grenade launchers and several hundred thousand rounds of ammunition for them.
Poland has signed an agreement to buy anti-tank grenade launchers from the Swedish company Saab. The contract is worth 6.5 billion zlotys ($1.63 billion – ed.). This is what the country’s Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh said, Reuters reported on Monday, March 4.
It is indicated that we are talking about the Carl-Gustaf M4 grenade launcher, which is designed to combat all types of modern armored vehicles.
“The Polish armed forces will receive Swedish-made anti-tank grenade launchers, and about 6.5 billion zlotys have been allocated for these purposes,” the minister said, adding that these grenade launchers are well performed on the battlefield in Ukraine.
In total, Poland will receive several thousand grenade launchers, several hundred thousand ammunition for them, as well as the necessary infrastructure, training and other auxiliary elements necessary to use the weapons.
Let’s remember that a few months ago Poland entered into an agreement with Britain for more than 4 billion pounds in the supply of air defense systems. This is the largest commercial agreement concluded between the two countries.
Poland has also reportedly signed an agreement to buy 96 Apache attack helicopters from the United States.
In recent years, Poland has been undertaking a large-scale rearmament of its army. In addition to American Abarms tanks and HIMARS missile systems, the program includes the production of a large number of advanced weapons in cooperation with South Korea.
