The American company Palantir Technologies will use AI to help clear mines in Ukraine. The Ministry of Economy signed a corresponding agreement with the allies on March 3 in London, said Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
It is noted that a special assistant based on an artificial intelligence platform will work with databases containing survey data of the State Emergency Service territories. The AI will also take information about the quantity and condition of equipment, the presence of pyrotechnic units in specific areas, and the like.
Next, the platform will analyze the information and make recommendations. Artificial intelligence will suggest how to most effectively carry out mine clearance – using new methods, such as traditional ones.
Sviridenko noted that currently in Ukraine 156 thousand square meters are considered potentially contaminated. km of territory, and more than 6 million Ukrainians are at risk. The Minister is confident that accelerating humanitarian demining will help save lives.
Let us recall that on February 12, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology – Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov reported that Ukrainian artificial intelligence developers UADamage are working on technology to speed up the identification of mines, shells and explosion craters, which may also contain dangerous debris .
